What I have noticed when this "stop" happens is that the entire network is flooded with TCP packed with a bad Checksum. When I examine them a number of packets have a checksum of 0X00. My neighbors are seeing the same checksum problems on their networks.
Then there are few more with "incorrect checksum" followed by a comment ""SMB-over-TCP packet:(raw data or continuation?)". I suppose the checksum in the first packet of the set will be correct if all the subsequent packets (which actually have no checksum at the place where tcpdump is grabbing the checksum value) have been reassembled into tcpdump bad udp cksum 0x431e message - MoonPoint May 12, 2011 IPv4 header checksum - Wikipedia The IPv4 header checksum is a checksum used in version 4 of the Internet Protocol (IPv4) to detect corruption in the header of IPv4 packets. It is carried in the IP packet header, and represents the 16-bit result of summation of the header words.. The IPv6 protocol does not use header checksums. Its designers considered that the whole-packet link layer checksumming provided in protocols, such virtualbox.org • View topic - Bad UDP checksums from host

The FCS is often transmitted in such a way that the receiver can compute a running sum over the entire frame, together with the trailing FCS, expecting to see a fixed result (such as zero) when it is correct.
Hi Could someone inform me how a CSS 11500 handles a packet with TCP invalid checksum. I have two loadbalanced svrs behind a CSS and im seeing the and ACK with a bad checksum hitting the server VLAN interface of the CSS which appears to send RST 200 micro seconds later to the server but not to the
If a TCP checksum gets corrupted in transit the recomputed checksum won't match the now corrupted checksum. Great, all fine so far. What happens when both the payload and checksum get corrupted and the recomputed checksum, whilst different to what it should be, just happens to match the now corrupted checksum?
